Located on the eastern slope of Binder Mountain in Batshireet Soum, Khentii Province, Rashaan Khad is often described as a "Natural Museum of Human History." This extraordinary archaeological site preserves thousands of years of human history in one location, containing rock art, inscriptions, and archaeological remains dating from the Stone Age through the Medieval period. Because it encompasses evidence from such a broad span of history, Rashaan Khad is considered one of the world's rare and most valuable cultural heritage sites.

Rashaan Khad is situated on the southeastern side of Binder Mountain and contains a major prehistoric settlement with multiple cultural layers extending from the Upper Paleolithic through the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods. Archaeological excavations have uncovered thousands of artifacts dating from the Upper Paleolithic to the early medieval era. Excavations carried out between 2011 and 2014 established a detailed chronological sequence for the site, revealing approximately 7,800 stone artifacts, making Rashaan Khad one of Mongolia's most important Stone Age archaeological sites.

Beyond its remarkable Stone Age discoveries, the cliffs of Rashaan Khad are covered with an extraordinary collection of petroglyphs, tribal tamgas (clan symbols), and inscriptions written in multiple ancient scripts, spanning from the Paleolithic period to medieval times. The surrounding area also contains numerous archaeological remains, including ancient burial sites, ritual structures, and ceremonial monuments, reflecting the site's long-standing cultural and spiritual significance.
