Tsogt Taij White House

The site is located in Dashinchilen soum of Bulgan Province, on the slopes of Khuldunzurkh Mountain in the “Bor Bulan” area of the Tuul River valley. This region is known for its relatively stable microclimate and natural landscapes that remain green even during dry seasons.

Tsogt Khun Taij (1581–1637) was a noble descendant of Chinggis Khan’s Golden Lineage and a highly educated poet, translator, and military leader. He supported the anti-Manchu policies of Ligden Khan and commanded a large force of around 40,000 troops. Due to political pressure, he later moved to Khukh Nuur in 1630 and continued resisting Manchu expansion until his death in battle in 1637.

The “White House” complex reflects the intellectual and cultural height of its time, blending religious architecture with military and political symbolism. It is considered an important monument of Mongolian statehood and Buddhist influence during the transitional period of the 17th century.
