The museum is especially known for its outstanding paleontological collection. It showcases rare dinosaur fossils discovered in legendary sites such as Bayanzag (the “Flaming Cliffs”) and Hermen Tsav, including fossilized bones and eggs that highlight the region’s global significance as a “cradle of dinosaurs.” In addition, the museum features taxidermy specimens of endangered species such as the Gobi bear (Mazaalai), wild Bactrian camel, snow leopard, argali sheep, and ibex, offering a detailed representation of the Gobi ecosystem.

The museum also preserves ethnographic heritage, including traditional household items, decorative arts, camel equipment, and historical artifacts of local communities. Through these collections, it serves as an important bridge that helps both domestic and international visitors understand the unique natural and cultural richness of the Gobi Desert through scientific interpretation.
