About Omnogovi
Location and Geography
Omnogovi Province is the largest province in Mongolia,
covering an area of approximately 165,000 square kilometers. It lies within the
Gobi Desert region and is situated at an average elevation of 1,300–1,600
meters above sea level. The landscape is dominated by desert and semi-desert
terrain with vast open spaces, rocky formations, and arid plains.
Population and Culture
The province’s economy is strongly influenced by mining and
tourism, which are key sectors driving development in the region.
Natural Attractions
Omnogovi Province is home to many unique natural formations
and important sites, including Rashaan Serven, Shar Maan, the Baruun Saikhan
Mountains, Orkhtiin Tsokhorkhoi, Togrog Khairkhan Plateau, Avdrant Mountain
Range, Nart, and Navtgar areas. These locations are known for their striking
landscapes, rare geological formations, and important natural and historical
discoveries.
